And even more significantly, TB-related deaths have fallen by 28%. Behind these numbers is a focused, mission-mode strategy – from doorstep screening and advanced diagnostics to nutrition support and a true Jan Andolan on the ground. With initiatives like the National TB Elimination Programme, the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, and the Ni-kshay Mitra initiative, India is not just treating TB – it is accelerating towards elimination. The goal is ambitious: a TB-free India well ahead of the global target. And the recent progress suggests we are firmly on track. So how did India achieve this turnaround?
