Delhi is set to redefine urban mobility. The Delhi Cabinet has approved the Delhi EV Policy 2026, a landmark initiative aimed at reducing vehicular pollution and accelerating the shift to clean, sustainable transport in the national capital. The policy comes into effect on 1 July 2026 and will be implemented in phases over the next four years, backed by a proposed outlay of ₹15,000 crore. Its goal is to make Delhi a zero-emission transport city by 31 March 2030, while expanding charging infrastructure, promoting electric mobility, and making EV ownership more affordable. The Delhi government says the policy is designed to lower both the upfront purchase cost and the lifetime cost of owning an electric vehicle through a mix of purchase and scrapping incentives, tax exemptions, and infrastructure support—making EVs a practical alternative to conventional vehicles. So, on our show today, we will decode, what does the Delhi EV Policy 2026 really promise? Can this ambitious roadmap deliver cleaner air, accelerate the EV transition, and transform the way Delhi moves?
