Drugs do not merely destroy individuals—they destroy families, weaken societies and threaten the very future of a nation. Today, drug trafficking has evolved into a global organised crime network that exploits technology, finances terrorism, fuels organised crime and targets the most vulnerable—our youth.
Recognising this challenge, the world observes International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking every year on 26th June, reaffirming a collective commitment to build healthier, safer and drug-free societies.
India, too, has significantly intensified its fight against narcotics. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking while simultaneously strengthening treatment, rehabilitation and public awareness.
Sansad Television is the Parliamentary channel of India. It was created in 2021 by merging Lok Sabha Television and Rajya Sabha Television.
