Perspective: India's Global Diplomacy | 30 May, 2025

In the days following Operation Sindoor, India dispatched seven all-party delegations across continents to convey to the world India’s message of zero-tolerance against terrorism and its new doctrine in dealing with terror attacks as an act of war in future. Over the past several days, our delegates – consisting of political leaders cutting across party lines and experienced diplomats – have travelled to different parts of the world. From Washington to Paris, Tokyo to Pretoria- India’s swift and calibrated action against terrorists has been applauded- and its long-standing concerns on cross-border terrorism have found deep resonance. In a world still struggling to define terrorism, India’s voice is finally cutting through – that we are firm, united, and unapologetic about how we deal with terrorists and those harbouring and nurturing them. So, is this the beginning of a more confident and assertive Indian diplomacy? Through this unprecedented diplomatic outreach, has India turned the global tide against the narrative spun by the state sponsors of terror?
