India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047 is entering a new digital phase. With the convergence of AI and Digital Public Infrastructure, NITI Aayog has unveiled DPI@2047 roadmap—aimed at driving inclusive, productivity-led growth. The roadmap, developed in partnership with EkStep Foundation and Deloitte, outlines a two-phase strategy—DPI 2.0 from 2025 to 2035 to drive livelihood-led growth at scale, followed by DPI 3.0 up to 2047 for broad-based prosperity. According to NITI Aayog, the immediate focus is on DPI 2.0. Moving beyond platforms like Aadhaar and UPI, DPI 2.0 targets sectors such as MSMEs, agriculture, healthcare and education, with a strong push on district-level execution and data-driven innovation—using technology not just for access, but to transform livelihoods and power India’s next wave of growth.
