Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with the President of the Government of Spain Pedro Sanchez, inaugurated India’s first private military transport aircraft production plant in Vadodara, Gujarat. This landmark initiative, part of the ‘Mak in India’ project in the aviation sector, is jointly developed by Tata Advanced Systems and Airbus Spain.The foundation stone of the facility was laid by PM Modi in October 2022. It is now ready for the production of C295 aircraft, which is used for tactical transport of troops. At the inauguration, the Prime Minister underlined that it’s a big boost to India-Spain cooperation, adding that India is attaching topmost priority to defence manufacturing and this is being noted globally.The Prime Minister also held productive discussions with the President of the Government of Spain, taking stock of the progress in India-Spain relations across diverse sectors, expressing hope to add even more momentum in our bilateral ties.So what are the areas in which India and Spain can collaborate further to strengthen relations?
