India’s semiconductor design ecosystem is getting stronger day by day, powered by government interventions like the Design Linked Incentive Scheme and the Chips to Startup Programme. As the country aspires to become a global hub for chip design and innovation, homegrown startups have begun to make their mark. In a significant development, Netrasemi – a startup supported under the government’s chip design scheme, has received Venture Capital investment of Rs 107 crore. The company is working on making chips for smart vision, CCTV cameras, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Welcoming the development, Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw said: “India has significant design capabilities. With the India Semiconductor Mission supporting Design in India, the success of Netrasemi will encourage other Indian startups.”
