The Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed a 1.185 lakh crore rupees budget for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for 2023-24. This is the second consecutive year when the outlay for Jammu & Kashmir has exceeded Rs 1 lakh crore. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman termed it an indicator of the govt’s commitment to make Jammu and Kashmir a model of development. Of the Budget, the revenue expenditure will be Rs 77,009 crore and the capital expenditure Rs 41,491 crore. As per the Budget document, last year economic growth was 14.64% and tax revenue growth 31%.
