Polling for the Presidential election was held at the Parliament House in New Delhi and the state legislative assemblies on Monday. MPs and MLAs cast their votes to elect the 15th President of India. NDA’s nominee for the post of President is Draupadi Murmu, a tribal leader, former governor of Odisha and a two-term former MLA. Opposition has fielded Yashwant Sinha, veteran politician and former cabinet minister. The counting of votes will take place at Parliament House on July 21 and the next President will take oath on July 25.
