Bihar has been home to many— to great empires and kingdoms, to mathematicians and philosophers, to yogis and ascetics. The land has also sheltered and nourished countless writers and poets. Today’s episode delves into the beauty and rich heritage of Bihari literature, past and present.
Abhay K. is a diplomat, poet and translator, with twelve books of poetry to his credit. His acclaimed poem, ‘Earth Anthem’ has been translated into over 150 languages. A SAARC Literary Awardee his translations of Kalidasa’s Meghaduta and Ritusamhara from Sanskrit won him the KLF Poetry Book of the Year Award (2021). His most recent work is the translation of the first Magahi novel ‘Fool Bahadur’
Presented by Dr. Gautam Choubey, ‘Likhawat’ is a show about the books of Bharat – written in many languages, published in different parts of the country, yet rooted in the singularity of Indian ethos.
Each episode of Likhawat will take up a book of national resonance and will feature a special guest who is privy to the intimate story of the book as it was imagined, written, published and read.
