Perspective: Budget for J&K | 15 March, 2022

In this episode of the Perspective Prog. based on ‘J&K Budget 2022-23’. The budget for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for 2022-23 was passed by Lok Sabha on Monday. Education, home, public health engineering, and power development saw the highest allocations for the UT in the next financial year. Responding to the discussion on this in the lower house Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that Centre government is committed to the development of J&K. She also informed the house that investor-friendly Jammu and Kashmir campaign has paid off with investment proposals worth Rs 44,177 crore received so far with an employment potential of 1.80 lakh jobs. Finance Minister also said that investment proposal under the new industrial policy shall be cleared on a fast track basis and the power generation capacity is being doubled in the next three years.
