Super Commando Dhruva is one of India’s most unique comic book heroes, and a perfect reflection of the spirit of the late 80s and early 90s. Unlike traditional superheroes, Dhruva has no superpowers—he relies on his intelligence, martial arts skills, and the ability to communicate with animals to fight evil. Orphaned at a young age after his circus family is destroyed, Dhruva is adopted by Rajan Mehra, the Assistant Police Commissioner of Rajnagar, and raised in a loving family. Supported by his tech-genius sister Shweta, who later becomes the vigilante “Chandika,” and his best friend Raj, Dhruva battles villains like Grand Master Robo and navigates complex relationships, including with his love interest, Natasha—the daughter of his greatest enemy. Dhruva’s strength lies not just in his physical prowess, but in his grounded humanity. He doesn’t hide behind a secret identity, and his tragic past fuels his mission to protect the innocent. He’s a superhero who balances his vulnerability with incredible courage, embodying hope, resilience, and the power of family.
Anupam Sinha is a renowned Indian comic book artist and writer, best known as the creator of the iconic Raj Comics superhero Super Commando Dhruva. Joining Raj Comics in 1987, Sinha introduced Dhruva, a superhero without superpowers, who quickly captivated audiences with his relatable qualities and grounded humanity. His success led to him expanding the Nagraj universe, starting in 1995, where he evolved the narrative to appeal to a more mature audience. After a brief hiatus, Sinha returned to Nagraj, working alongside Manoj Gupta on the highly anticipated series Sarpsatra, marking the first collaboration between Nagraj and Tausi. Through his groundbreaking work, Sinha played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the Indian comic book industry, shaping a new era for fans and creators alike.
