Harivansh is the Deputy Chairperson of the Rajya Sabha, a position he has held since August 2018 and was re-elected in September 2020. With a diverse career spanning various media publications, he began his journey at The Times of India and later served as an additional media advisor to former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar. In 1989, he revitalized the struggling Hindi publication Prabhat Khabar, transforming it into one of India’s leading newspapers by circulation. Known for its investigative journalism, Prabhat Khabar under his leadership exposed significant stories, including the infamous Fodder scam. Nominated to the Rajya Sabha by Janata Dal (United) from Bihar in 2014, Harivansh continues to contribute to public discourse and policy-making with his extensive media and parliamentary experience.
Presented by Dr. Gautam Choubey, ‘Likhawat’ is a show about the books of Bharat – written in many languages, published in different parts of the country, yet rooted in the singularity of Indian ethos. Each episode of Likhawat will take up a book of national resonance and will feature a special guest who is privy to the intimate story of the book as it was imagined, written, published and read.
