Wild and Wilful tells the story of fifteen of India’s wild species. Some are threatened species like tigers, elephants, leopards, Great Indian bustards. Some are more common species like the tiger butterfly, Rosy starlings and magarmach. Neha takes an ethnographic approach in her work, documenting the lives of people who live near wildlife, as well as an ecological one—through field observations of wildlife
Neha Sinha is a conservation biologist and author. She has worked for over a decade on wildlife conservation in India. She is also a popular writer, with columns appearing in National newspapers. She has received awards and honours for both her wildlife conservation work and her writing. Her book, Wild and Wilful, was critically acclaimed.
Presented by Dr. Gautam Choubey, ‘Likhawat’ is a show about the books of Bharat – written in many languages, published in different parts of the country, yet rooted in the singularity of Indian ethos.
Each episode of Likhawat will take up a book of national resonance and will feature a special guest who is privy to the intimate story of the book as it was imagined, written, published and read.
