The government has planned to introduce 16 new bills in the upcoming winter session of Parliament. Spread over 23 days – from 7th December to 29th December – the winter session will have 17 sittings. The session will take place in the existing Parliament building as construction of the new one has been impacted by a number of factors like the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war affecting overseas deliveries. The government says it looks forward to constructive debates and discussions during the session. The question is: How will the government ensure smooth proceedings in both Houses? What strategies will the opposition adopt and what are some of the significant legislations that the government is planning to get passed during the Winter session?
