In this episode of the Perspective Prog. based on Fight Against COVID-19: India Scripts History. India has achieved the major milestone of administering 100 crore doses COVID vaccines under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Expressing his gratitude to all those involved with the vaccination process, Prime Minister Modi termed it as triumph of Indian science, enterprise and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. India took 279 days to reach 100 crore vaccinations landmark since the Vaccination Drive began on 16th January this year in a phased manner. While it took 85 days to administer first 10 crore doses of Covid vaccine, the last 10 crore of the 100 crore landmark were delivered in just 19 days. Eight states and UTs namely Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Lakshdweep along with Dadar Magar Haveli and Daman & Diu have so far administered 100 percent of first dose of Covid vaccine to its residents. Digital technology through CoWin platform has been used successfully for the roll out of India’s Covid vaccination program which is also the World’s largest and fastest such drive. Recently ICMR’s Drone Response and Outreach in North East or i-Drone has also been launched to make sure that life-saving vaccines reach everyone. In this episode we will discuss and analyse all aspects of India’s fight against COVID-19 pandemic and this landmark achievement.
