It’s been one year since the horrific Pahalgam attack – an act of terror that shook the nation’s conscience, leaving an indelible mark on our collective memory. A year later, India stands united – in grief, in remembrance, and in unwavering resolve. Paying tributes to the innocent lost in the gruesome attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated that India will never bow down to terror. He affirmed that the victims will never be forgotten, and that the nation remains firm and resolute in its fight against terrorism. Leaders across the political spectrum also came together to remember and honour the 26 victims of the dastardly attack a year ago, reflecting a shared national commitment that transcends politics. Global leaders also stood in solidarity with India. From the European Union to the United Kingdom, Israel to Argentina, countries reaffirmed the global unity against terror. A year on, as we pay tributes and revisit the tragedy, we also take the opportunity to discuss how it reshaped India’s approach to tackling terror? How did it lead to a shift in strategy, in doctrine, and in our preparedness? What lessons did we learn and how are they being translated into action on the ground? And as the threat of terrorism continues to evolve, how are we equipping ourselves better to prevent, respond to, and deter such attacks?.
