The India Connect: Sunita Williams

Indian-origin Sunita Williams is a former NASA astronaut and a veteran of two space missions. Born in Ohio to Indian American neuroanatomist Dr Deepak Pandya and Slovene American Bonnie Pandya, Williams was selected as an astronaut by NASA in June 1998. One of the most experienced spacewalkers in the world, Williams has made a total of seven spacewalks. Williams is currently training for the first post-certification mission of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft – the second crewed flight for that vehicle – and her third long duration mission aboard the International Space Station.
