A classical batsman with an outstanding ability to play shots, Alvin Isaac Kallicharran is one of the greatest batsmen to have taken guard for the West Indies in its Golden Era. The former cricketer of Indo-Guyanese origin, Kallicharran made his debut in 1972. Born in Georgetown, British Guiana, Alvin played cricket actively between 1972 and 1981. He is still revered for his grace under pressure, his righteousness, and unmatched sportsmanship.
