Welcome to this special Republic Day telecast on Sansad TV. As India celebrates the 77th Republic Day, the historic Kartavya Path is set to witness a spectacle that reflects the spirit of our Constitution, the strength of our democracy, and the aspirations of a forward-looking nation. This year’s Republic Day celebrations are especially significant as it pays tribute to the 150-year legacy of our national song, Vande Mataram – which is a timeless symbol of our freedom struggle. At the same time, we’ll also be showcasing the country’s progress, resilience, and preparedness in an increasingly complex global landscape. A major highlight of the parade will be the first-ever Battle Array Formation by the Indian Army, presenting an integrated display of marching contingents, mechanised columns, state-of-the-art weapons systems, drones, tanks, and missile platforms—demonstrating India’s growing military capabilities and operational readiness. The Indian Air Force flypast, featuring a wide range of aircraft and helicopters in precision formations, will mark the grand finale of the parade. Adding a special dimension this year is a dedicated veterans’ tableau by the Indian Air Force, honouring the invaluable contributions of former service personnel to the nation. In keeping with the spirit of Jan Bhagidari, nearly 10,000 Special Guests from across the country have been invited to witness the celebrations. These include innovators, researchers, start-up founders, members of Self Help Groups, and individuals who have made exemplary contributions towards nation-building. Adding to the significance of the occasion, the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will grace the Republic Day Parade 2026 as Chief Guests, underscoring India’s growing global partnerships.
