The programme looks into the history of Baloochistan. Though Balochistan spreads over 44 percent of Pakistan’s land mass, is rich in resources, it is not treated accordingly. The local population has also not benefitted from CPEC- China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Added to all this in the continuous human rights issue the Baloch face from the Pakistani authorities. Disappearances and extrajudicial killings are common.
In this episode of History Behind Headlines, we deep dive into the history of Balochistan, the insurgency and separatist movements there, the demands of the Baloch people, the prospects and future of the wonderful land.
