On February 20th, the United Nations marks World Day of Social Justice, reinforcing the global mission to ensure fairness, dignity, and equality for all. In an exclusive Sansad TV interview, the Hon’ble Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment reaffirmed India’s unwavering commitment to empowering marginalized communities through transformative initiatives like PM-AJAY, NAMASTE, PM-DAKSH, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, ADIP Scheme, and Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT).
These flagship programs are uplifting Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Transgender persons, sanitation workers, senior citizens, and Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) by focusing on education, skill development, financial inclusion, legal protection, employment opportunities, and digital accessibility. With a record budget for SC/ST welfare, mechanized sanitation reforms, scholarships, free coaching, rural infrastructure development, and anti-drug awareness campaigns, the government is bridging socio-economic gaps and fostering a truly inclusive and just society.
The Minister emphasized that social justice is not just a policy but a national movement, calling upon citizens, organizations, and youth to actively contribute towards building an equitable India where every individual, regardless of background, gets equal opportunities to thrive.
