Travel by rail has changed phenomenally across the country. Train journeys have transformed into a world class experience, with hi-speed, hitech, eco-friendly trains ferrying passengers to their destinations. The lifeline of India, the Indian Railways, is living up to its name as the great unifier in our diverse country by connecting cities and states, people and cultures. The railway sector has seen spectacular progress in the past few years. From ultra-modern rail infrastructure to hi-tech trains and railway stations, the government is aiming to make Indian Railways a vehicle of fast-paced, inclusive growth and connectivity. The Railways is playing a key role in connecting remote areas, particularly in the northeast, to other parts of the country. The Indian Railways is also encouraging private players to join in the development journey to further boost the sector. The Indian Railways is acting as a catalyst for Atma Nirbhar Bharat by building fully-equipped trains like Vande Bharat and modernised, state-of-the-art infrastructure indigenously.
