Shovana is the most notable disciple of Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj. She not only mastered the art of Kathak dancing but also was equally good in academics with a Phd in Physics. While Kathak has been Shovana’s passion, she has also been a civil servant. Thus, Shovana Narayan is a rare blend of excellence in two very diverse and equally demanding careers.
