Indian-origin politician Priyanca Radhakrishnan created history by becoming the first Indian-Kiwi woman to become a minister in New Zealand in 2020. Born in India, 41 year old Radhakrishnan went to school in Singapore before moving to New Zealand for higher education. In 2006, Radhakrishnan joined the left-leaning Labour party in New Zealand. In the present government she has been given three key portfolios. She hails from Paravoor in Kerala’s Ernakulam.
