Rakesh Pal, Director General of the Indian Coast Guard, passed away on Sunday following a heart attack in Chennai. He assumed the position of the 25th Director General on July 19 last year. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described Pal’s demise as ‘untimely’ and commended the significant strides made in strengthening India’s maritime security under his leadership. He recently engaged in a special discussion with Sansad TV regarding the Coast Guard’s role.
