Current Energy Landscape
India is the third-largest energy consumer in the world, relying heavily on coal for electricity generation. However, coal’s environmental impact, including air pollution and carbon emissions, poses serious challenges. With a growing population and an expanding economy, the demand for cleaner energy sources is urgent. Natural gas, which constitutes about 6-7% of India’s total energy mix, is increasingly viewed as a viable solution to meet this demand.
