Meghalaya, one of the beautiful states in Northeast India and famous for its natural picturesque, has two Lok Sabha seats- Shillong and Tura. Among these, Shillong parliamentary constituency is larger, encompassing 36 of Meghalaya’s 60 assembly seats, while Tura comprises 24 assembly seats. Shillong, surrounded by hills, is often referred to as the ‘Scotland of the East.’ Formerly the capital of Assam, this area resembles to a natural cave amidst scenic hills.
