ice President of India C. P. Radhakrishnan released the book ‘The Library Man of India: The Story of P.N. Panicker’ authored by P.P. Sathyan at Uprashtrapati Bhavan today.
Paying tributes to P.N. Panicker, the Vice President described him as a visionary who transformed society through the power of books, libraries and learning. He observed that a library can change a child’s future, a book can transform a life, and one determined individual can transform an entire society.
Emphasising the need to revive reading habits among the youth, the Vice President called for strengthening libraries as centres of knowledge, creativity and social awakening.
Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Tourism Shri Suresh Gopi, former Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Prof. P.J. Kurien, Vice Chairman of P.N. Panicker Foundation Shri N. Balagopal and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
