Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2024 on 23rd of July. It’ll be the first full budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government in its third term. Significantly, it’ll be Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s seventh straight Budget – a remarkable and historical feat for any Finance Minister so far. On 1st of February this year, she presented the interim budget before the Lok Sabha elections, which outlined a vision for Viksit Bharat. Expectations are that this full Budget will build on the foundation of this vision with a concrete action plan. Ahead of the Budget, various sectors are abuzz with expectations for significant policy shifts and financial allocations. The government has held consultation meetings with different stakeholders, trying to understand their expectations and concerns. The discussion is on how much of those will be incorporated in the Budget? What are the key areas that the government will prioritise its third term, especially pertaining to the financial sector?
